Nichols has gone 9-1 against Bishop Timon-St. Jude recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Vikings will venture away from home to challenge the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Nichols' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Bishop Timon-St. Jude's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Nichols fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against St. Mary's on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 2-1. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Ross Yoshida was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one double.

Yoshida wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Reed Coene, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Bishop Timon-St. Jude came up short against St. Francis on Friday and fell 4-1. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Like Nichols, Bishop Timon-St. Jude also got a great game from a two-way player: Brendan Gossling. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Gossling was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Nichols' record now sits at 12-5. As for Bishop Timon-St. Jude, their record is now 8-10.

Everything went Nichols' way against Bishop Timon-St. Jude in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Nichols made off with a 10-1 win. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
