The biggest upset of the week belonged to Medford, who defeated 42nd ranked Canton, 54-14.
Pond Creek-Hunter extended the longest winning streak in B District 1 (8 Man) this week by beating Seiling, 40-16. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Panthers.
Trenton Grimes provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Pond Creek-Hunter beat the Wildcats.
Grimes was the best running back in the league this week. In 7 carries, he ran for 145 yards as David Kerr's team lost to Garber. Teammate Harley Comeau added to the ground attack by rushing for 83 yards.
Covington-Douglas' offense cannot be tamed this season and the Wildcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hunter Carl has thrown for 1,018 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Dylan Daugherty has 40 catches for 480 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Laverne and Seiling. The Tigers enters the contest ranked first in the state, while Bruce Hendrickson's team ranks 21st.
The Cardinals made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 813 from 932. The improvement was largely due to a 54-14 victory over the Tigers last week.
