The biggest upset of the week belonged to Mercer, who took down 244th ranked Mercer, 28-13. Blake Reddick ran for 189 yards in the win.
Luke Patten and Sage Pope provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Conneaut Area. The connection went for 53 yards, the longest such play in District 10 Region 1 A this season.
West Middlesex's dynamic duo of Patten and Pope proved tough for Conneaut Area to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Patten threw for 53 yards and one touchdown and Pope had 80 yards receiving. Jeremy Jancso helped West Middlesex's passing attack out by catching three balls for 64 yards.
The Big Reds' Trey Staunch and Pope have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Staunch has thrown for 440 yards this season, while Pope, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 15 catches for 223 yards. Reddick from Lakeview leads the league in rushing with 861 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Sailors take on Kennedy Catholic. Lakeview's offense has scored 110 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Golden Eagles have allowed only 127 on the year.
A big matchup in District 10 Region 1 A this week will be when Farrell takes on Sharpsville. At the moment, the Steelers are in fourth, while the Blue Devils are in first.
Conneaut Area moved up to 338 from 430 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Conneaut Area was able to make the jump by beating Conneaut Area 32-7.
