Scottsboro had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Geraldine on Saturday. The Wildcats blew past the Bulldogs 12-4. Considering the Wildcats have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Scottsboro's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-13. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Geraldine, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-10.

Scottsboro wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-2 win against Mountain Brook on the 19th. As for Geraldine, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-4 loss against North Sand Mountain on the 19th.
