After three games on the road, Carroll is heading back home. They will take on The Caston Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Carroll stacked a tenth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 42-8 win over Tri-County. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 21-0.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Caston beat North White 34-28 on Friday. The victory was just what Caston needed coming off of a 50-0 loss in their prior contest.
Caston's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Landen Rigney, who rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Another player making a difference was Jabez Yarber, who rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
Carroll's win was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 10-0. As for Caston, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8.
Everything came up roses for Carroll against Caston when the teams last played back in October of 2014 as the squad secured a 52-0 victory. Does Carroll have another victory up their sleeve, or will Caston turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
