Riverside is a perfect 5-0 against Troy Christian since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Riverside made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bethel, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Pirates never let the Bees get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory on Tuesday. Give the Pirates' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
Keira Manahan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aubree Huston, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jayden Hoffer, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Riverside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Troy Christian lost 13-3 to Milton-Union on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly ten runs.
Troy Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Eschete, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Alaina Rogers was another, scoring two runs while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.
Riverside pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Troy Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Troy Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Riverside has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Troy Christian, though, as they've been averaging 10.7 hits. Given Riverside's sizable advantage in that area, the Eagles will need to find a way to close that gap.
Riverside took their win against Troy Christian in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
