The South Point Red Raiders had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 55-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fort Mill. South Point lost against Fort Mill in their previous head to head back in December of 2015, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 46-21 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why South Point lost, one person who can't be blamed is Amya Graham. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds. Lauren French was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 blocks.
South Point's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Fort Mill, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
South Point will head out on the road to face off against Palisades at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Palisades focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday. Fort Mill won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Christ Church Episcopal at 6:00 p.m. on November 29th.
