Meridian is 1-8 against the Jaguars since November of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Meridian Lions will head out on the road to face off against the NYOS Charter Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Meridian sitting on four straight wins and the Jaguars on seven.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Meridian had no problem doing just that last Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 67-48 win over the Cardinals.
In what's become a running theme this season, NYOS Charter gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They breezed by Austin Royals HomeSchool at home to the tune of 48-21.
It was another big night for Trey Huff, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Nathan Tadios was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Meridian's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for NYOS Charter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Meridian came up short against the Jaguars when the teams last played back in January, falling 45-32. Can Meridian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
