New Trier is a perfect 10-0 against Niles West since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Trevians will look to defend their home field against the Wolves at 10:00 a.m. New Trier is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
New Trier barely beat Glenbrook South the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trevians put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 14-5 victory on Wednesday. The Trevians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.
Jackie Ryder looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Trey Meyers, who got on base in all six of his plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 11 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Bloom, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Meanwhile, Niles West sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over Vernon Hills on Thursday.
Shaylen Patel tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits.
On the hitting side, Niles West let Ryan Lee and Christian Guzman run wild. Lee went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Guzman went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double. Lucas Som was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Niles West hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
New Trier's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-5-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Niles West, their victory bumped their record up to 10-13.
New Trier came out on top in a nail-biter against Niles West in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Trevians repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
