ASU Prep Poly pushed their score all the way to 56 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were beaten by El Dorado 89-56. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Monday (55), ASU Prep Poly still had to take the loss.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead El Dorado to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mikai Phipps, who scored 39 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. The match was Phipps' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Kamari Brown was another key contributor, dropping a triple-double on 16 points, 11 assists, and 11 steals.
ASU Prep Poly's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for El Dorado, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
ASU Prep Poly will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Canyon State Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. As for El Dorado, they will head out on the road to face off against BASIS - Peoria at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
