Sebeka and the Bears are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Sebeka Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Bertha-Hewitt Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sebeka is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Sebeka was fully in charge, breezing past the Wildcats 76-41 at home. The victory was just what Sebeka needed coming off of a 100-51 loss in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sebeka to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jasper Hosey, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. Hosey is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Lake, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Bertha-Hewitt's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 69-52 fall against Wadena-Deer Creek.
Sebeka's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Bertha-Hewitt, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
Sebeka came up short against the Bears in their previous meeting back in January, falling 69-63. Can Sebeka avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
