The Argos Dragons will take on the South Bend Riley Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Argos is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Argos is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Knox just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against the Redskins, falling 11-3.

Maddie Overmeyer was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Ava Stackhouse was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

Meanwhile, South Bend Riley came into Thursday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against Michigan City on Thursday as they made off with a 17-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won five contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on CHLOE WHITMER, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of KALIA PERSON, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI.

South Bend Riley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Michigan City only posted an OBP of .381.

Argos now has a losing record of 4-5. As for South Bend Riley, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Argos hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like South Bend Riley struggles in that department as they've averaged .338. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Argos might still be hurting after the 15-2 loss they got from South Bend Riley in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
