The Brookhaven Panthers typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday the Provine Rams proved too difficult a challenge. They took down the Panthers 49-34. The win made it back-to-back wins for Provine.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kordell Collins, who scored nine points. Nicholas Gamble was another key contributor, scoring four points along with seven rebounds.
Provine is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Brookhaven, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Provine will take on Natchez at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Natchez will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Provine is ranked 29th). As for Brookhaven, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Pike at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
