Oxbow is a perfect 3-0 against Bellows Falls since June of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Olympians will host the Terriers at 4:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Oxbow sitting on 34 straight victories dating back to last season and Bellows Falls on three.
Oxbow is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They didn't even let Mill River on the board, marking the Olympians' second-straight 26-0 shutout. The Olympians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by 11 runs or more this season.
Anastase Bourgeois and Noemi Rosa made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Bourgeois didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Rosa pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bourgeois has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances. At the plate, Bourgeois went 3-for-5 with four runs and three RBI, while Rosa went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Brooke Osgood was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Abby Longto, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Bellows Falls came out on top against Randolph on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run second inning. The Terriers blew past the Ghosts 16-4. The result was nothing new for the Terriers, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Like Oxbow, Bellows Falls also got a great game from a two-way player: Izzy Stoodley. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Stoodley was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.
In other batting news, Bellows Falls got a massive performance out of Grace Hayes, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Emma Mccullough was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs.
Oxbow's win bumped their record up to 15-0. As for Bellows Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5.
Oxbow took their win against Bellows Falls in their previous matchup back in June of 2024 by a conclusive 37-2 score. Will the Olympians repeat their success, or do the Terriers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
