Keeshawn Love Delivers Best Performance of Season
Keeshawn Love produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Fernley to the win on Friday. Love rushed for 526 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 15.0 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 90-yard run.
Lowry's probably not too fond of Love given he always seems to get the better of them. Love rushed for 225 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry the last time he and the Buckaroos duked it out back in October of 2023.

Erick Valencia Crosses Big Stat Threshold
On Friday, Lowry had to settle for second even though Erick Valencia put up the best numbers he has all season. Valencia rushed for 222 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 102 yards while completing 83.3% of his passes. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (114) per game. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.
Lowry is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. Valencia and Lowry are taking a road trip to square off against South Tahoe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Ivan Esparza and Co. Win 21st in a Row
Ivan Esparza was instrumental in extending Truckee's winning streak to 21 on Friday. Esparza rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. Truckee was ranked a full 114 places lower in their respective state rankings, but Esparza proved rankings don't matter once you're on the field.
Truckee pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Esparza and Truckee will face off against Sparks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Melendy Came Up Big in Churchill County's 21-14 Win
Rounding off our Top Five is Carson Melendy of Churchill County. Melendy rushed for 52 yards and two touchdowns. He has become a key player for Churchill County: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise.
The victory got Churchill County back to even at 4-4. Melendy will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant performance when he faces off against Elko on Friday.
