Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask DC International). They were the clear victor by a 22-2 margin over the Richard Wright Public Charter School Spartans on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.
Nile Williams was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Williams was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-1.
In other batting news, DC International got a massive performance out of Jose David English, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. English continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Biko Sheridan, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
DC International always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .727. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
DC International now has a winning record of 4-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DC International will square off against Landon at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. DC International will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. Richard Wright Public Charter School will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on DC International at 3:00 p.m. on April 10th.
