In what's become a running theme this season, the Elkhorn Antlers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. Everything went their way against Hastings as Elkhorn made off with a 67-41 victory. Given Elkhorn's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Tigers are ranked 135th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Elkhorn's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nixon Farmer, who scored 17 points along with seven assists. Colin Comstock was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
The victory was the third in a row for Elkhorn, bringing their record for this year to 13-2. As for Hastings, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elkhorn will challenge the Bears at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hastings, they and the Vikings will face off on February 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
