Jordan is 9-1 against Riverside-Durham since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Falcons will head out to challenge the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Jordan's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against East Chapel Hill by a score of 5-0. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Carson Hickey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Jordan is 5-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Hickey was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February.

In other pitching news, Jordan got a great performance from Luke Samples as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave Samples a new career-high.
Hickey wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Harris Mangum, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Riverside-Durham hadn't done well against Chapel Hill recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Pirates walked away with a 7-3 win over the Tigers.
Kj Burton was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Harper, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Riverside-Durham's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Jordan, their record is now 9-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Jordan has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Riverside-Durham struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Jordan's way against Riverside-Durham in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Jordan made off with a 12-2 victory. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
