St. Marys put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Wahama as St. Marys made off with a 68-42 victory. Given St. Marys' advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Wahama is ranked 297th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
St. Marys' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addie "r" Davis, who scored 23 points along with seven assists and five steals. Davis hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynnley Bulluck, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Wirt County came up short against Tyler on Tuesday and fell 59-47. Wirt County has not had much luck with Tyler recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
St. Marys' win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Wirt County, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
St. Marys didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Wirt County when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 47-42 victory.
