Union Area's game  on Saturday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Aquinas Academy Crusaders with a sharp  8-1 win. The  victory was some much needed relief for the Scotties as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Cole Harper, who  got on base  in three of his five plate appearances with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Union Area's success: when he posts  at  least two  stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 1-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of  Swayze Reighert, who  went 2-for-3 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 Union Area  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aquinas Academy only managed four  hits.
Union Area's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Aquinas Academy, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the  loss, which was their fifth straight  at home.
Union Area will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Crusaders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
