Football Recap: Robbinsville Falls Despite Big Games from Bryce Adams and Darion Ledbetter

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Robbinsville can now relate to. They fell 34-21 to the Murphy Bulldogs on Friday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Black Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-7 back in October.

Robbinsville's loss came despite strong showings from Darion Ledbetter and Bryce Adams. Ledbetter picked up 98 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Adams rushed for 49 yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance gave Ledbetter a new career-high in receiving yards.

It was another big night for Cameron Clem, who rushed for 250 yards and one touchdown while picking up 11.4 yards per carry for Murphy. Clem was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Grant, who rushed for 71 yards and one touchdown on only five carries.

Robbinsville's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-7. As for Murphy, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.

Robbinsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Murphy has also already played their next match, a 26-8 defeat against Mountain Heritage on the 6th.
