Logan/Palco will head out on the road to square off against the Western Plains Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Logan/Palco is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Logan/Palco had to settle for a 39-37 defeat against Golden Plains. While losing is never fun, Logan/Palco can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while Golden Plains is ranked 136th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ansley Delimont, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Cydnee Ryder, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Western Plains' recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of Heartland Christian by a score of 43-40.
Despite the defeat, Western Plains saw an underclassman step up: Madelyn Kraus dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kraus has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelyn Spangler, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Logan/Palco's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Western Plains, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Logan/Palco have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 33.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Western Plains struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 27 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
