After a string of five wins, the Fishers Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 55-46 to Franklin Central. Fishers was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Franklin Central apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Fishers lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nevaeh Dickman, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Joirdyn Smith, who scored nine points.
Even though they lost, Fishers smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Franklin Central only pulled down four offensive rebounds.
Franklin Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Payton Duvall out in front who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and eight blocks. Lily Graves was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Fishers' loss dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Franklin Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season.
Fishers' road trip will continue as they head out to face Carmel at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Carmel will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Fishers is ranked tenth). As for Franklin Central, they will face off against Southport at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southport is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
