After a string of five wins, the Bluegrass United Bluehawks's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They suffered a tough 59-38 loss at the hands of West Michigan HomeSchool. Bluegrass United was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-13.
Despite the loss, Bluegrass United still got an impressive performance from Allie McGuire, who scored 20 points along with 3 steals. McGuire scored a full 52.6% of Bluegrass United's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Emilie Hanssen, who scored 6 points.
Bluegrass United's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-1. As for West Michigan HomeSchool, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Bluegrass United will head out on the road to face off against Louisville Collegiate at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Michigan HomeSchool does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
