On Tuesday, the Westlake Thunder faced the Lehi Pioneers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Westlake took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lehi. Westlake was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lehi apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2017.
Several Thunder players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Austyn Feller, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Willis, who scored 14 points.
It was another big night for Addy Scrivner, who scored 18 points for Lehi. Brynlee Cook was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Westlake's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5. As for Lehi, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westlake will square off against Pleasant Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lehi, they will head out on the road to challenge Skyridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Skyridge is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
