The Greenwood Rangers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell to Legacy Christian Academy 56-51. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Greenwood came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while Legacy Christian Academy is ranked 812th).
Despite the loss, Greenwood still got an impressive performance from Tatum Pierce, who scored 30 points. Pierce scored a full 58.8% of Greenwood's points, the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ty Presley was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Greenwood's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Legacy Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
Greenwood's road trip will continue as they head out to face Rider at 10:00 a.m. on December 9th. As for Legacy Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Prince of Peace at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
