Baseball Recap: Water Canyon Sets Scoring Season-High Against Beaver

Water Canyon extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 19 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-13 in the process. They came up short against the Beaver Beavers, falling 21-5. On the bright side, the five- run performance marked the Wildcats' highest-scoring match to date.

As for Beaver, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-3. The result was nothing new for the Beavers, who have now won seven contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

For Beaver's part, David Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Smith was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Bridger Blackner was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Noah Wolffe, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
