If Moundridge were riding high off their 42-6 takedown of Goessel two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Moundridge were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Friday, as they fell 22-28 to Bennington.
Meanwhile, everything went Solomon's way against Wakefield as the squad secured a 54-6 victory. The Solomon offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Solomon's win lifted them to 2-0 while Moundridge's loss dropped them down to 1-1. In their win, Solomon relied heavily on senior Logan Krause, who rushed for 157 yards and 2 touchdowns; a key strategy for Moundridge will lie in finding a way to minimize his impact.
