The Las Vegas Wildcats will head out to face off against the Legacy Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Las Vegas is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since March 27th on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Del Sol. The Wildcats have struggled against the Dragons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
While Las Vegas was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-18, 25-10.
Meanwhile, Legacy faced Mojave in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Longhorns came out on top in a nail-biter against the Rattlers, sneaking past 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Longhorns, who have now won three games in a row.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Legacy got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 21-25, 25-20, 22-25, 15-13.
Legacy pushed their record up to 16-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Las Vegas, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-15.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: Las Vegas has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 4.7 aces per game. However, it's not like Legacy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
