Basketball Recap: Mountain View Falls Despite Big Games from Noah Shahraz and Jayden Minor

If Mountain View was feeling good fresh off their 56-32 takedown of Los Altos last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mountain View Spartans lost to the Wilcox Chargers on the road by a 77-61 margin on Wednesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (56), the Spartans still had to take the loss.

Mountain View's loss came despite strong showings from Jayden Minor and Noah Shahraz. Minor went 8 for 19 on his way to 20 points along with seven assists and six rebounds, while Shahraz went 6 of 11 en route to 15 points. What's more, Shahraz also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jaden Feller, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 11 points in addition to seven boards and four blocks.

Mountain View now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Wilcox, they moved to 11-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Mountain View will square off against Los Gatos at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Mountain View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.4 points per game this season. As for Wilcox, they will face off against Gunn at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
