The Mays Raiders won the last time they faced the Midtown Knights, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Mays enjoyed a cozy 67-53 victory over Midtown. Given Mays' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while Midtown is ranked 320th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Mays to victory were Germani Wilson and Derron Lindsey ii. Wilson dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds, while Lindsey ii scored 23 points. The game was Lindsey ii's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Baldwin-Hughes , who scored six points along with seven assists.
Mays' victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-4. As for Midtown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mays will take on Lithia Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lithia Springs has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. As for Midtown, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Villa Rica at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Villa Rica's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matches.
