Prairie State recap September 10, 2013
Mt. Olive moved up to 404 from 490 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Prairie State. The Wildcats were able to make move up by beating Bunker Hill 55-14.
Nokomis/Ramsey was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to first in the league. The Redskins defeated Decatur Lutheran 42-0 earlier in the week.
Jacob Neihaus and Brenden O'Neal gave Mt. Olive a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Neihaus threw for 18 yards, while O'Neal ran for 130 yards. Teammate Blake Bartok added to the ground attack by rushing for 133 yards.

Bartok was a passing and rushing force as the Wildcats topped the Minutemen. Bartok's key target this week was O'Neal, who caught 2 passes for 18 yards.
Neihaus put up the best numbers through the air as Mt. Olive beat Bunker Hill.
Austin Tryon was the best receiver in the league this week as South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville lost to St. Thomas More. Tryon tallied 2 receptions for 13 yards. Seth Foster helped South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 10 yards.
O'Neal was the best running back in Prairie State this week.
6-foot-0 quarterback Colton Masters of Metro-East Lutheran is the league leader in passing yards this season with 224. He has also thrown 4 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is O'Neal. The Mt. Olive star has 7 catches for 157 yards.
The Wildcats are in second place, while Marquette Catholic is in fifth place.
The Ponies lost to the Sabers 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tryon ran for 17 yards in the loss.
