Lincoln put their dominant defense on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. They breezed past the Bernstein Dragons to the tune of 34-0. Considering the Tigers have won six games by more than 25 points this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Lincoln got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ash De La Nuez out in front who threw for 230 yards and four touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave De La Nuez a new career-high in passer rating (133.7). Lincoln's leading receiver Leqi 'Maggie' Zhen was De La Nuez's top target yet again, picking up 105 receiving yards and three TDs.
Lincoln didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jinyah Pangelinan, Katelyn Alvarado, Heilly Salinas, and Zhen picked up one apiece. Zhen is on a roll when it comes to receiving touchdowns, as she's now hauled in two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Pangelinan got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Lincoln has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 1.9 points on average over those games. As for Bernstein, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
