The Trenton Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Bell 66-10 on the road. That 56 points margin sets a new team best for Trenton this season.
Koi Perry was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 12 points, 11 assists, and ten steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Nyima Gillyard, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Bell struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Trenton racked up 18 assists.
The win (which was Trenton's fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Bell, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trenton will take on Oak Hall at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oak Hall is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Bell, Bell and Newberry will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Newberry presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bell in Florida (Newberry is ranked 134th, while Bell is ranked 494th).
