Hoggard is 9-1 against North Brunswick since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, both will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:30 p.m. Hoggard knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully North Brunswick likes a good challenge.
Last Friday, Hoggard needed a bit of extra time to put away West Brunswick. They snuck past the Trojans with a 66-61 win. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Trojans are ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Will Seward and Hunter McGrath were among the main playmakers for Hoggard as the former dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds and the latter went 8 of 14 on his way to 19 points and three steals. With that strong performance, Seward is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Aidan Locklear was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.
Hoggard smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Brunswick only pulled down one offensive rebound.
Meanwhile, North Brunswick had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three last Friday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 72-71 victory over the Pirates.
Hoggard better keep an eye on Kane Jenrette. He was instrumental in North Brunswick's win, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Jenrette continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Marcus Smith, who went 7 for 17 en route to 17 points in addition to five assists and three steals.
Hoggard's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2. As for North Brunswick, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Hoggard hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 68.3 points per game. However, it's not like North Brunswick struggles in that department as they've been averaging 66.6 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Hoggard took their win against North Brunswick in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 80-59. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Jenrette, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 boards. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Hoggard still be able to contain Jenrette? There's only one way to find out.
