With a playoff game on the line, the Locust Fork Hornets rose to the challenge on Saturday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 85-57 victory over the Cougars. Locust Fork has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 20 points or more this season.
Locust Fork was led to victory by Levi White and Jalon Boatright. White scored 29 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks, while Boatright dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points White has scored all season. Titus White was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
The victory was the third in a row for Locust Fork, bringing their record for this year to 20-6. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33 points. As for Central of Coosa County, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-9.
Locust Fork's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Marion at 4:30 p.m. on February 15th. Marion is coming into the contest with five straight victories on the road, so Locust Fork is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Central of Coosa County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
