Basketball Game Preview: Neuse Charter Cougars vs. North Duplin Rebels

Neuse Charter is 8-2 against North Duplin since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Neuse Charter Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the North Duplin Rebels at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Wednesday, Neuse Charter earned a 62-49 win over Ascend Leadership. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Klayton Tew continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 17 boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Demonte Jackson, who posted 14 points and six steals.

Meanwhile, North Duplin suffered their closest loss since January 10, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Bear Grass Charter by a score of 68-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (61), the Rebels still had to take the loss.

Neuse Charter's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-6. As for North Duplin, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Neuse Charter lost to North Duplin on the road by a decisive 65-48 margin in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Neuse Charter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
