Walnut Hills is 4-0 against Fairfield since November of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Walnut Hills Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Fairfield Indians at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Walnut Hills is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Ohio (they are ranked 89th, while Fairfield is ranked 236th).
Two weeks ago, Walnut Hills was the victim of a tough 59-39 defeat at the hands of West Clermont. Walnut Hills has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Fairfield fought the good fight in their overtime match against Middletown on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 53-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Middies.
Fairfield's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kayla McCoy, who scored 14 points along with four steals, and Myka Richardson who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.
Walnut Hills' loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8. As for Fairfield, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Walnut Hills against Fairfield when the teams last played back in November of 2019 as the squad secured a 65-25 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Walnut Hills since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
