Sadly, the Wakefield Bombers are still looking for their first win of the season after 14 matches. They were beaten by Herington 64-14 on Thursday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wakefield in their matchups with Herington: they've now lost three in a row.
Leading Herington to victory were Mason Mortensen and Tyus Becker. Mortensen scored 26 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Becker almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine steals. Another player making a difference was Kwinton Barlow-Mckenna, who scored six points along with two steals.
Wakefield dropped their record down to 0-14 with that defeat, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Herington, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wakefield will square off against Solomon on Friday. Wakefield comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Herington, they will head out on the road to square off against Goessel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
