It was a good run, but the Fayetteville Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 57-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cascade. Fayetteville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cascade apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaydan Parks, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elly Bain, who scored 12 points.
Cascade was led to victory by Sophie Ray and Kaegan Young. Ray scored 16 points, while Young scored 20 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 steals. The game was Young's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Laina Carter, who scored 7 points.
Fayetteville's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Cascade, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fayetteville will challenge Giles County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Giles County comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Cascade, they will head out on the road to face off against Huntland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Huntland is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
