After two games on the road, Whitmer is heading back home. They will take on the Perrysburg Yellow Jackets at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Whitmer is ranked 123rd, while Perrysburg is ranked 134th).
After soaring to a 38-point victory in their last game, Whitmer came back down to earth on Monday. They fell just short of Walsh Jesuit by a score of 43-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Whitmer has suffered yet this season.
Defeat or not, Whitmer got some senior leadership from Jada Shoup and Mackenzie Royal-davis. Shoup scored 16 points along with eight rebounds, while Royal-davis. scored eight points along with ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shoup has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Perrysburg didn't have too much trouble with Findlay at home on Thursday as they won 53-38. The win made it back-to-back wins for Perrysburg.
Whitmer's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Perrysburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Whitmer came out on top in a nail-biter against Perrysburg in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, sneaking past 37-34. Will Whitmer repeat their success, or does Perrysburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
