St. Vincent de Paul extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 4-1. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Healdsburg Greyhounds 17-15. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 11, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Makayla Bignardi made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up seven earned (and eight unearned) runs off 12 hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2025. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Bignardi is crushing it when it comes to RBI: she's brought in at least three every time she's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liv Guthrie, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those hits were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sydney Reagan, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
St. Vincent de Paul kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
As for Healdsburg, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since March 25, 2025.
On Healdsburg's side, Mia Halvorsen made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Jenkins, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. St. Vincent de Paul is set to challenge their familiar foe Ukiah at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Healdsburg will take on rival Piner at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
