Sparrows Point and Carver A&T are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The Sparrows Point Pointers will head out on the road to face off against the Carver A&T Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Sparrows Point had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past Franklin, posting a 46-12 win on the road.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Carver A&T on the road against Owings Mills on Friday as the team secured a 59-16 win.
Carver A&T relied on the efforts of Jada McAliley, who scored 13 points along with 7 steals, and Elisah Guity, who scored 21 points. Oliva Vallar was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Sparrows Point's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Carver A&T, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 1-0.
Sparrows Point didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Carver A&T in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 43-37 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sparrows Point since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
