If the Gross Catholic Cougars were feeling good off their 65-28 takedown of the Louisville Lions on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Gross Catholic ended up on the wrong side of a tough 71-46 walloping at the hands of Bennington on Tuesday. Gross Catholic lost against Bennington in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 49-32 score last time.
Bennington got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Presley Baca out in front who scored 15 points. The contest was Baca's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Regan Bluhm, who scored 11 points along with five assists.
Gross Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Bennington, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gross Catholic has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Blair at 3:30 p.m. on December 16th. Blair is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Bennington, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Concordia at 7:15 p.m. Concordia is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
