The Vilonia Eagles will take on the Lonoke Jackrabbits at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Vilonia had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Mayflower on Friday. Vilonia put the hurt on Mayflower with a sharp 16-1 win. Vilonia not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 15, 2025 (when they won 27-0).
Whitley Ritchie and Natalie Hill were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Ritchie pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Hill pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Ritchie went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Hill went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, LaNaya McLaughlin was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Olivia Cates was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Vilonia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mayflower only posted an OBP of .364.
Meanwhile, Lonoke strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let Rison get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The Jackrabbits' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Coraline Spires and Kylee Bell did most of the damage at the plate: Spires got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Bell went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Shaniya Jackson, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Vilonia's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Lonoke, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
