Kaiden Alday looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Michael Boblick, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Kocher, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Cedar Cliff was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Muhlenberg's offense. They came up short against Wilson last Friday, falling 6-0. The Muhls' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Muhlenberg saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Keller, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.
Cedar Cliff's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Muhlenberg, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.
Everything went Cedar Cliff's way against Muhlenberg when the teams last played back in May of 2023, as Cedar Cliff made off with a 7-0 win. Do the Colts have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Muhls turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
