Baseball Recap: Colfax Drops Highest Score of Season Against Marysville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Colfax). They came out on top against the Marysville Indians by a score of 14-9 on Friday. Surprisingly, this marked the sixth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Drew Stowers and Blake Arteaga did most of the damage at the plate: Stowers went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base, while Arteaga scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those three RBI gave Stowers a new career-high. Lucas Clark also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Colfax always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Colfax's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Marysville, they dropped their record down to 1-11-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Colfax will host Center at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Center's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Colfax's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Marysville, they will be playing at home against Lindhurst at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Marysville is facing Lindhurst at the right time seeing as Lindhurst is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
