Meanwhile, Catholic had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Warriors a 9-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won 14 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Davis Emonet was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had over his last three matchups. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
In other pitching news, Jake Tompkins looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Noah Lewis, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Cole Desormeau also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in seven consecutive games.

Woodlawn-B.R. might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Catholic in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
