Gahr was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in San Gabriel Valley. The Gladiators defeated Lynwood 42-35 earlier in the week.
Paramount extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Warren, 31-15. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Pirates.
Gahr's dynamic duo of Joshy Hollins and Kendren Pitchford proved tough for the Knights to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Hollins threw for 135 yards and three touchdowns and Pitchford had 140 yards receiving. Christian Pabico helped Gahr's passing attack out by catching six balls for 80 yards.
Justin Huff was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 316 yards on 15 carries as Downey defeated Lynwood. Teammate Jorge Reyna added to the ground attack by rushing for 75 yards.
The Gladiators' Caleb Baumann and Pabico have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading San Gabriel Valley in both passing and receiving yards. Baumann has thrown for 2373 yards this season, while Pabico, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 39 catches for 787 yards. Huff from the Vikings leads the league in rushing with 1435 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Dominguez takes on Paramount. At the moment, the Dons are in fourth, while Matt Howard's team is in first.
The Bears moved up to 794 from 823 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Warren climbed the ranks as a result of falling to the Pirates 31-15.
