The West Clermont Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Kings Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Clermont is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
West Clermont only won by two when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 22-point they dealt Anderson on Monday. West Clermont was the clear victor by a 52-30 margin over Anderson. Given West Clermont's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Anderson is ranked 527th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
West Clermont got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Taylor Schmidt out in front who scored ten points along with five assists and four steals. Schmidt is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Paige Rodriguez, who scored 18 points.
Meanwhile, Kings was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 45-39 to Lebanon.
West Clermont has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Kings, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5.
West Clermont came up short against Kings in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 43-34. Can West Clermont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
